A Social-Ecological Assessment of Whale Shark Tourism in the South Ari Atoll MPA

Studying the social, ecological and economic interactions between endangered whale sharks and increased tourism in the South Ari Atoll Marine Protected Area in collaboration with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme and the University of Oxford.

Barba Norway: Arctic Sense 2021

Powered by the wind, Barba is an innovative ocean conservation platform bringing together researchers and storytellers with a mission to document whale populations and study the effects of climate change in the Arctic circle beyond 80 degrees North.

Oxford University x Sail Britain: Anthroposea Expedition

Coinciding with the start of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the centenary of women’s admission to the University of Oxford, this sailing expedition examines human responses to environmental change and on British shores through the lens of the marine social sciences. Supported by the Oxford University Expeditions Council and Sail Britain.
